A Brief Thank You…

by Nonna

The Liebster Award is a way to highlight some of our favorite blogs with a following of 300 or less. Dear Shell over at Thinking Love, No Twaddle nominated my little corner here, and I wanted to pass it on to a couple other deserving blogs I enjoy. :)

1. Anna over at Praying With My Feet, a dear blogging friend, loving homeschooling mother, and busy Orthodox priest’s wife. Anna has a wonderful sense of humor, an unshakable faith, and her blog is almost a daily stop for me… It’s the reality of her friendship that I treasure. (Anna’s the one who sent me her little icon diptych – she’s one of the most encouraging, loving people I know.)

2. I also want to nominate Michelle’s place over at Living With Bob (Dysautonomia). Michelle faces this debilitating disease with humor and realism – her blog is where I go when I need a real “whinge” as she would call it, or a deep belly laugh… Sometimes you just need to hear that someone else knows what you’re life is like, and can remind you to laugh at it all. :) While she lives on the other side of the world from me, and our lives are drastically different in the details, we find ourselves with so much in common just because we’re fighting a similar battle…

***I’m unsure if my other two favorite blogs qualify since I’m pretty sure that they have more than 300 followers (as they don’t post how many they have it’s hard to tell), but I want to mention them anyway since I highly recommend them. Katherine Mary’s corner at Evlogia, and Father Stephen’s at Glory to God for All Things. These blogs are well known for their encouragement in the Faith… Mary’s become a dear friend over time, she’s an amazing woman of prayer and faith, a homeschooling mother, and a devoted wife. I feel so blessed to have met her in this blogging world. Fr. Stephen’s blog has well over 2 million hits, and that’s for good reason… his blog is one of the best places to go for information on Orthodox Christianity.***

I also want to take this opportunity to mention another blog – though I can’t nominate it for this particular award since as of now Sara has over 700 followers. Her corner of cyberspace is Choose Joy – gitzen girl, and she writes about her life with a very debilitating chronic illness called Ankylosing Spondylitis, while she purposely chooses to live in joy, faith and gratitude. Sara is the place to go when you think that life is hard… after reading a few of her posts, you can’t help feeling encouraged. (Plus, she has wonderful pictures of her adorable dog!)

Shell, thank you again for thinking of me!

Lord, have mercy…
